The project consists in the transformation of an existing small farmhouse located on the slopes of a hill covered by olive-trees into a villa comprising a garden modeled after the hortus conclusus and a lawn with swimming-pool.
The entrance to the building is on the lower level which is connected with the garden by means of a passageway shaped as a cool grotto –a soothing relief from the Summer heat. The garden, located on an intermediate level, is surrounded by three semicircular large stone steps in the fashion of a Greek theatre.
The upper level of the villa faces a lawn with swimming-pool, connected with the lower level by a flight of wide steps and a pleasantly sloping promenade.
Wide glass walls connect the interiors with the lawn and the open landscape. The finish of floors, ceilings and walls must use a single material and a neutral color which will definitely enhance the color palette of the surrounding nature.
